This video showcases the fantastic traditional skill of Thatching thanks to funding from Westmeath County Council. A big concern is that the thatched cottage are rapidly becoming scarce in Ireland. Therefore it is so important to keep this tradition alive for future generations to maintain what we have today. There are a number of thatched cottages around Athlone and Moate.
